The Drive In

I packed all of my things and headed off to Eastern Idaho for the weekend. I love Eastern Idaho during the summer time. Jake and the dog were not in tow, I left the boys to fend for themselves. Usually when I return the house is a disaster and everyone is thankful that mom is home. To get my family out of the house we decided to go to the local drive-in and see Night at the Museum 2 & Ice Age 3. My sister & I decided to steal my brothers truck for the evening. Now his truck is not some lame-o truck that has never seen a dirt road. It is all decked out. Huge tires, rims, lift, stereo system and oh don't forget the custom decals of dead fish on the back window...totally country-boyed out. So you can imagine the sight when me, my sister and mother pulled up into the drive-in, in this beasty truck. I had to back it in because my sister was too nervous that she would hit someone else, I don't blame her. The truck was so high that we had to have a CHAIR to get into the back. We got our mom all situated in the back then piled the blankets on. We had enough treats to last through the year.
Getting the sound system ready was a bit of a challenge....my brother had given us specific instructions on the sequence of buttons that had to be pushed. We had the sound system turned up to the max but when we started pushing buttons my brother's cd started playing. It was not a angelic choir cd or even a depressing country song. The first words were F this and F that..you are my Hoe...OOPS Sorry to all of the parents that were sitting around us with young children. Dear parents of Rexburg your teenager has already heard these words you just don't want to admit it because you live in churchy town.
I often wonder what a parent was thinking when they allow their FIVE children to sit on top of their suburban to watch a movie at the drive-in. I was waiting anxiously to see one of the tater tots just roll off the back...I don't think the mother would have even noticed... her other three children were running around in their pajamas all night.
I am a people watcher I could sit any where and just make fun of people. I know that's terrible. My favorite places are the State Fair, Boise Towne Square Mall & Las Vegas on any day of the week. Surrounding us was the usual family and a few college students. One truck had four teenagers crammed in the back of a truck all laying on top of a mattress..you know where this is going. Let's just say they were participating in more recreational activities then watching the movie.
The bathrooms were interesting.....they reminded me of the bathrooms in Mexico however these were clean and you could flush the TP down the toilet. Upon entering I realized how small the stall was. I am 5'9'' and all legs. Let's just say I had to sit side saddle in order to sit down. Nice.
Oh, and the movies...Eh they were ok. You can only make so many movies about the Ice Age....plus they have the whole time line backwards.
