4th of July Festivities

Oooooooo

We decided to be boring old people this 4th of July. We both HATE parades especially when it's 80 degrees when you wake up. Our 4th of July was all about the FOOD.
My {must haves} on the 4th of July:
Corn on the Cob {with lots of butter}
Potato Salad
Meat
So to sum it all up I am farmer's daughter..so my diet requires meat, potatoes, and some form of vegetable that has total lost all of it's healthiness due to the amount of butter slathered on it.

Clyde enjoying his corn on the cob. Jake will be on pooper scooper patrol this week.

God bless cows they taste so good.

Our tradition for the 4th of July is some GOOD {Newman's} lemonade...and NO it is not Mike's hard lemonade.

Jake makes the best homemade ICE CREAM :)

....and after too many glasses of lemonade and a bowl of homemade ice cream later..let the sugar high begin. Check out this awesomeness, my Kung Fu Panda tattoo. Things were getting pretty wild at the Donahoo house.

Middleton does put on a good firework show. Plus, we only have to walk two blocks from our house to see them.

Jake lighting his feet on fire

this is either Jake pretending he is the monster on Lord of the Rings killing Gandolf with his fire whip...or Jake doing the most up and coming thing... men's gymnastics routine with a fire whip. The best is at the end when he twirls and does a back flip & lites his glittery outfit on fire.

We purchased the usually with the small amount of funds we had available this year...SPARKLERS...FLOWERS..{cough..cough} illegal Roman Candles. I had never set off Roman Candles before...hence the neighbors done the street found the scene quite comical. As I was standing in the middle of the road Jake was directing me {from the drive-way} how to properly aim and fire my Roman Candle. Let's just say..I may have almost lit a few of the neighbors yards on fire... I may have hit some random vehicle...and when Jake called my name I may have completely turned around and had the firework pointed at him screaming WHAT..before it had gone off.

**We made it through another 4th of July without any injuries.**

Roman candles remind me of Jeff lighting his shirt on fire. The funny thing was, he was so excited to be lighting off fireworks that he didn't notice the smoke or hot flame on the belly of his shirt. Thank goodness I was there!
(Oh, and yes, I'm still prego. I'll call you when that changes.)
